The CASIO fx-82 series started with the CASIO fx-82, an ordinary scientific calculator. But CASIO
kept extending this line, turning it not into just a model number but a whole
calculator series. Trying to make it the non-programmable scientific
calculator for school use.
So far I’ve found mention of the following types:
The CASIO fx-82 SOLAR is a very nice improvement over the CASIO fx-82 SUPER. It is basically identical function-wise but has some very nice improvements. The calculator is a functionally complete non-programmable scientific calculator with a 10+2 digit display. Some general improvements are its smaller size, very nice and big keys with a good touch, and of course the very sensitive solar cells. This calculator doesn’t have an automatic power-off and keeps running for as long as it has enough light. This way the non-constant memory isn’t lost when the calculator is left untouched for a while. It needs very little light to operate, very nice. Some functional improvements are a backspace key (finally!), the square and square-root functions are swapped, and an x3 function is added. |
