The CASIO fx-82 series started with the CASIO fx-82, an ordinary scientific
calculator. But CASIO kept extending this line, turning it not into just a model
number but a whole calculator series. Trying to make it the
non-programmable scientific calculator for school use.
So far I’ve found mention of the following types:
Improved version of the yellow-display predecessor CASIO fx-80 and its sibling, the cheaper CASIO fx-81. This calculator (as do many other CASIO scientific calculators) uses one and the same key for both the constant π as well as exponents. This works as follows. When you first enter digits, the EXP key will enable you to enter the exponent, otherwise it will enter the constant π. It is a robust and solid calculator for school usage. The fact that it uses ordinary (AA) batteries is also a big advantage. |
