The CASIO fx-82 series started with the CASIO fx-82, an ordinary scientific
calculator. But CASIO kept extending this line, turning it not into just a model
number but a whole calculator series. Trying to make it the
non-programmable scientific calculator for school use.
So far I've found mention of the following types:
Improved version of the yellow-display predecessor CASIO fx-80 and its sibling, the cheaper CASIO fx-81. This calculator (as do many other CASIO scientific calculators) uses one and the same key for both the constant π as well as exponents. This works as follows. When you first enter digits, the "EXP"-key will enable you to enter the numbers exponent, otherwise it will enter the constant π. It is a robust and solid calculator for school usage. The fact that it uses ordinary (AA) batteries is also a big advantage. |
