Notes: The TI 35X is a scientific calculator meant for school use. It’s a more capable of it’s sibling the TI-30X.

It is a 10-digit scientific calculator with very nice big soft keys and clearly readable markings. It has the standard set of scientific functions, statistical functions, fracntions, unit conversion, BASE-n functions and a database of eight physical constants.

To get all this functionality available with the number of keys, there are two modifier keys, 2nd and 3rd. The first and second modes of the keys are printed on the keys themselves, the third is printed above them.

There is also an F◄►D function to find the fraction of a decimal result. This doesn’t work for all decimals. For example, when typing ".444444444" followed by F◄►D nothing happens. However, pressing it after first dividing "4" by "9" the fraction "4/9" is shown.

The STO and RCL memory keys can operate on three separate memories, 1, 2 and 3.

Replacing the two batteries is a bit tricky. Six small screws hold the back, and after the back is removed be caureful not to tilt the calculator upside down. Not that keys actually fall out but the sheet with the circuit board and the keys will hang down which is a bit scary.
