The HP 16C Collector’s Edition, introduced
in 2026 is a modern version of the classic HP
16C calculator. It is not technically more advanced. In fact it runs the original
ROM (with some modifications) of the original HP
16C in an emulator running on an ARM-based processor. Due to this emulation it is now about 100 times faster.
Like the original it has 203 bytes for programming steps but it has 99 memory registers for data.
It comes with an beautiful old fashioned elaborate spiral-bound manual. This calculator is not produced by HP itself but under licence by Moravia Consulting. They produce other HP calculator models as well. Their page on the HP 16C Collector’s Edition can be found here (link validated 2026-08-20). The production run was 10.000 units (I bought two, one directly from Moravia Consulting) hence I set the "Terminated" date to 2026 as well. This calculator a flash port hidden in the battery compartment. A special cable is available here on The Calculator Store (link validated 2026-08-20). The same cable can be used for newer (2015 and later) versions of the HP 12c Platinum. An excellent overview by Eric Smith of al the hardware changes over time in this Voyager series could be found here on his website (link no longer validated). I have cached a version here (his server possibly caught fire again). |

This calculator is one of HEWLETT PACKARD’s landscape series
of calculators, named the HP Voyager series. Extremely (and I mean
extremely) robust calculators and some of them were quite
successful too.
What I find really amazing about this calculator series is the design, which is actually quite timeless and very elegant. If one calculator series deserves a design award it’s this series. Only HEWLETT PACKARD can create heavy duty casing with such elegance. The calculators in this series are:
