This organiser is quite big and a little heavy but it’s very well
thought out, enormously versatile and extendible. The case is made
of a soft, rubber like plastic with a leather look-and-feel to it.
It has 64kB of memory which was quite a lot at the time. It has a versatile calendar, a scheduler, phonebook, memos, a calculator and a world clock. If that was not enough, there were various extension cards available (you can see the "demo" card inserted in the picture above) which would extend the calculator with up to 20 new keys and various functions (even games). A printer could be linked to this organiser directly. This organiser is very quick and quick searching is possible by typing the first letter of the item and pressing the search buttons. A friend of mine (hi, Bob Polis) got this organiser as a gift from his employer somewhere in the early 1990’s and I was of course quite jealous. After a while he didn’t really use it anymore and I could buy it off him for, if I remember correctly, about 25 guilders (say, $10). I actually used it for quite a while to remember birthdays and hold my addresses. I did feel a little sad when I (to be able to store this organiser safely) pulled out the memory backup battery for the last time, obliterating the contents of the memory (yes I do have my addresses stored elsewhere, but still). For information on how to link this organiser to a PC, take a look at IMSL Software here (link validated 2024-01-13). |
