Notes: This NON-RPN and thus algebraic programmable graphical calculator came after the HP 48G but is built using the same software platform. According to HP, "The Hewlett-Packard 38G was designed with the help of an advisory committee of eight high school, community college and university teachers".

HP 38G display Its graphical matrix display looks quite similar to that of the HP 48 series of calculators.

This calculator has a well thought-out protective cover. It is a pity that not more calculators use this approach. When closed the brand name and type designation at the top of the calculator are still clearly visible. When sliding the cover up it tilts 180 degrees and slides back down at the back.

Peripherals

An infra-red port that can be used for communications between HP 38G calculators. It can also connect to a PC running HPComm38 by using the F1897-66000 serial cable.
