Notes: The HP 300s+ is a non-RPN scientific calculator meant for (high school) students. It has a 2-line LCD, the top part provides a 12-character alphanumeric part for data entry, the botton part is a 10-digit regular 7-segment display showing results.

This calculator is not produced by HP itself but under licence by Moravia Consulting. They produce other HP calculator models as well. Their page on this calculator can be found here (link validated 2026-10-08). It is still for sale in 2026.

Parenthesis do not need to be balanced. When pressing the = key all open parenthesis are presumed closed. Also, multiplications are implied when for instance entering "2sin(45".

When an error occurs, or when one wants to edit a previous calculation, simply press one of the arrow keys ◄ or ► to edit it. The DEL key acts as a backspace key, very handy.

The ON key and the AC key both clear the display.

It has multiple memories (A-F, X, Y and M). Assign using the STO function and a letter. No need to press the ALPHA key before pressing the letter key. The same holds for retrieving values using the RCL key.

The M memory has a special function, and when pressing M+ or using M- this memory is used. Good to know is that these two operations act as = as well, so to add a result to memory M simply use M+ instead of = to perform a calculation.

The a b/c key can be used to enter and calculate using fractions, but it can also used to turn non-fractional results into fractions when possible.

Replacing the battery is easy, its compartment at the back of the calculator is held using only one PHILLIPS screw.
