The BCM 818 is a calculator with a fluorescent display, memory, the percentage function and the square root.
It has a nine-digit fluorescent display,
eight for accuracy and the left one for overflow indication "C" and for displaying
the minus for negative numbers. When the leftmost digit’s period is lit there is a
non-zero value in memory.
The square root and memory readout/clear buttons seem a little like an afterthought, they are the two small buttons next to the "BCM 818" designation. The division and multiplication operations are repeated when the = key is pressed. The first number entered is the number used for the repeat. So to repeatedly multiply a number by two, enter "2 x [number] =". |
