Fortime Clip

Description

Brand: Fortime
Model: Clip
Type: Design calculator
Picture: Fortime Clip
Batteries: LR 44 x 1
Lifetime: Introduced: 1989
Terminated: unknown
Notes: This calculator looks a bit like a triangular slice of a Dutch cheese and that’s intentional, for it is a calculator to promote Albert Heijn’s Zaanlander cheese.

As for its design, I am wondering if the cheese-likeness is by design or by accident. The calculator is basically a spring-loaded clip that can be used to hold together papers and suchlike. The calculator is designed not to outlast its battery, for the battery is not meant to be replaced. Took me about five minutes to get it out :-) and that’s probably why it uses the relatively large LR 44.

As for the brand name, on the back it says "©COPYRIGHT FORTIME 1989". So I gathered that the brand name is Fortime, although it might mean something else. No other references can be found on nor inside this calculator. I’m not very much convinced Fortime is the brand name, because I can not find any references to this name anywhere on the internet.

As for the calculator itself, it is a basic calculator with memory, percentages and a square root key.
