Peripherals

There are various interfaces for this calculator (and others in this series). There are two types of cassette-interface, which could play musical notes as well. There is also a printer, the FP-10. I own the printer FP-10 and cassette interface FA-2.

Personal Experience

CASIO FX-601P fixed PCB CASIO FX-601P cracked PCB I was quite happy to have finally hit one on a Dutch auction site for a reasonable price. When I received it one of its keys was completely stuck, probably due to sticky fluid having once spilled on the device. When I took the calculator apart I was able to get the keys unstuck using force and cleanup. Then it was time to put everything back in place and reassemble the calculator. That is where I made an error. The PCB is held in place using two small plastic hooks. When I applied pressure one of the plastic hooks broke the PCB. See the pictures. It took some time to rewire the PCB front and back to get the calculator operational again. Please beware when taking apart this model (and its variants) and place close attention reassembling it.
