The Canon Palmtronic LE-80 is an
8-digit plain calculator with basic
functions.
It is quite a heavy calculator and it has a slightly slanted case. Negative values are indicated by a big red dot at the right of its LED display. Another big red dot at the left of the LED display is the error indicator. There is a slider to enable or disable constant operations. When slid to the "K"-position multiplications and divisions are repeated when repeatedly pressing the = key. The battery compartment is a slide-out battery drawer. On one of its sides it says "Canon PALMTRONIC DRY BATTERY CASSETTE". The state of the battery is very neatly displayed using a real volt meter. A NiCad rechargeable battery pack is also available. Handy extra information and a picture of this calculator’s innards can be found on this Datamath page (link validated 2025-01-21). |
