The Canon F-766S, sibling of the
Canon F-760S, is a scientific
calculator with a 2-line LCD, the
top part provides a 12-character
alphanumeric part for data entry, the botton part is a 10-digit regular 7-segment display showing results.
It is capable, providing statistical calculations, BASE-n operations, complex number calculations, a quadratic, cubic and simultaneous equation solver, and a library of 38 formulae. It is possible to enter large or really small numbers using unit symbols. For instance, type 9µ (Alpha 2) to enter the number 9 x 10-6. It is even semi programmable using the CALC key. Type a formula (using variables A-D, X, Y), then press CALC and the calculator will query the variables and calculate the result. A Very Simple Programming Example using CALC:
Calculate the area of circles with radius A:
The a b/c key can be used to enter and calculate using
fractions, but it can also used to turn non-fractional results into
fractions when possible.
First enter the sequence:
π × A2
Now repeatedly press CALC to calculate the area of several circles. |
